Randić-Turato, Arhitektura tranzicije je prva u seriji monografija Hrvatski arhitekti izdavačke kuće Arhitekst.



Monografija govori o arhitektonskoj produkciji Saše Randića i Idisa Turata od 1992. do 2000. godine. U tranzicijski "oskudnim " vremenima baviti se arhitekturom značilo je u slučaju Randića i Turata, na iznimno inteligentan način anticipirati i transformirati tranzicijske pojavnosti. Randić i Turato su tranzicijski arhitekti koji su proširili tradicionalno polje djelovanja pretvarajući se u dinamične "menagere promjena". Kenneth Frampton, čijim sjajnim esejom i započinje ova monografija, vidi ih kao "urbanu gerilu" i "agent provocateur".

Monografija prikazuje kritičku selekciju projekata i realiziranih objekata u periodu od osnivanja biroa Randić-Turato d.d.o. u Rijeci 1992 do danas.

Natječajni radovi pokrivaju cijeli svijet od Yokohame do Venecijanskog Bienalla dok su izgradeni objekti i urbani planovi koncentrirani na riječku regiju. Tranzicija je "trajna sastavnica riječke regije" kako to naglašava Darko Glavan u eseju o povijesnim i kulturnim fenomenima grada Rijeke. Arhitektonsko djelovanje Randića i Turata tangencljalno se veže na rječku kulturnu i arhitektonsku produkciju 20-tog stoljeća generirajući nove strategije i scenarije za djelovanje.

I kako prelistavati ovu knjigu? Možda kao istinski napor izdavača, arhitekata i urednika za proizvodnjom smisla ili kritičke svijesti u vremenima velikih promjena.

Randic-Turato, Architecture of transition, is the first in a series of Monographs "Croatian Arhitects" by the Arhitekst publishers. Monograph is presenting the architectural production of
Sasa Randic and Idis Turato from 1992 to 2000. In a case of Randic and Turato, just to engage in architecture, in the transitionaly destitude times, it was nesecary to anticipate and transform transitional proseses with high degre of inteligence. Randic and Turato are arhitects of transition



which managed to widthen traditional architectural discourse, transforming themselves in the managersof change. Kenneth Frampton, which essay is opening this book, sees tham as urban guerilla and "agent provocateur".

Monograph is presenting the critical selection of the
projects and built buildings from the 1992, when the office Randic and Turato was established till today.

Competition enteries are spanning from Yokohama to Venice Bienalle while built buildings and urban plans are concentraited in the Region of the city of Rijeka. Transition is the "permanent character
of the Rijeka region" as it was emphasized in the essay by Darko Glavan about cultural and historical phenomenon of the city of Rijeka.
Architectural produdion of Randic and Turato is tangentialy linked to the
cultural and architectural production of the city of Rijeka while generating the very new strategies and scenarios for architectural adivities.

How we should read this
book? Perhaps as the sincere effort by publisher, architect and the editor to introduce the production of meaning and critical counsciousness in the time of radical changes.
