Randić-Turato: Arhitektura tranzicije je prva v seriji monografij
Hrvaški arhitekti založniške hiše Arhitekst.
Monografija prinaša pregled arhitekturne produkcije Saše Randića
in Idisa Turata v obdobju med leti 1992-2000. V tranzicijsko
"revnih" časih ukvarjati se z arhitekturo v primeru
Randića in Turata pomeni na izjemno inteligenten način ancipirati
in transformirati tranzicijske pojave. Randić in Turato sta
tranzicijska arhitekta, ki sta s preobrazbo v dinamična "menedžerja
sprememb" razširila tradicionalno polje delovanja. Kenneth
Framptom, s čigar sijajnim esejem se tudi začenja pričujoča
monografija, ju vidi kot "urbano gverilo" in "agent
provocateur".
Monografija prikazuje kritično selekcijo projektov in realiziranih
objektov v času od nastanka biroja Randić-Turato, d. o. o.,
na Reki leta 1992 do danes.
Natečajna
dela pokrivajo ves svet od Yokohame do Beneškega bienala,
medtem ko so zgrajeni objekti in urbani načrti osredotočeni
na reško področje. Kot poudarja Darko Glavan v eseju o zgodovinskih
in kulturnih fenomenih mesta Reke, je tranzicija "stalna
komponenta reške regije". Arhitekturno delovanje Randića
in Turata je tangencialno povezano z reško kulturno in arhitekturno
produkcijo 20-tega stoletja in poraja nove strategije in scenarije
delovanja.
In kako listamo to knjigo? Morda kot resničen napor založnika,
arhitektov in urednika, da bi proizvedli smisel ali kritično
zavest v časih velikih sprememb.

Randic-Turato, Architecture of transition, is the first in a
series of Monographs "Croatian Arhitects" by the Arhitekst
publishers. Monograph is presenting the architectural production
of
Sasa Randic and Idis Turato from 1992 to 2000. In a case of
Randic and Turato, just to engage in architecture, in the transitionaly
destitude times, it was nesecary to anticipate and transform
transitional proseses with high degre of inteligence. Randic
and Turato are arhitects of transition
which managed to widthen traditional architectural discourse,
transforming themselves in the managers of change. Kenneth Frampton,
which essay is opening this book, sees tham as urban guerilla
and "agent provocateur".
Monograph
is presenting the critical selection of the
projects and built buildings from the 1992, when the office
Randic and Turato was established till today.
Competition enteries are spanning from Yokohama to Venice
Bienalle while built buildings and urban plans are concentraited
in the Region of the city of Rijeka. Transition is the "permanent
character
of the Rijeka region" as it was emphasized in the essay
by Darko Glavan about cultural and historical phenomenon of
the city of Rijeka.
Architectural produdion of Randic and Turato is tangentialy
linked to the
cultural and architectural production of the city of Rijeka
while generating the very new strategies and scenarios for
architectural adivities.
How
we should read this
book? Perhaps as the sincere effort by publisher, architect
and the editor to introduce the production of meaning and
critical counsciousness in the time of radical changes.
