Santiago Cirugeda, Onix, Tom Chudleigh, Baumraum, Terunobu Fudžimori in zdaj Francesco Gatti so le nekateri od sodobnih arhitektov, ki so projektirali in uresničili svoje projekte za hišico na drevesu. Leta 2005 je prva številka nizozemske revije Mark izšla z naslovom Gradimo hišice na drevesu in predstavila celo vrsto projektov s to nenavadno temo.
Za otroke je hišica na drevesu zelo resna igra. Kot pri igri z lego kockami in pri drugih dejavnostih, ki posnemajo način odraslih, kot da se nekaj počne, daje hišica na drevesu otroku možnost, da primerja svoj lastni svet s svetom odraslih. Pravila igre se spremenijo, ko projekt izdela pravi arhitekt, ki se mora začasno poistovetiti s takšnim posebnim naročnikom.

Santiago Cirugeda, Onix, Tom Chudleigh, Baumraum, Terunobu Fujimori, and now Francesco Gatti, are only a few of the contemporary architects who have designed and then carried out a project for a tree house. In 2005 the first issue of the Dutch magazine Mark was published with the title “Let’s build trees!” showing a series of projects on this unusual theme.
For children a tree house is an extremely serious game. As with Lego and other activities which imitate a grown-up’s way of doing things, it gives a child the opportunity to physically compare his own world with that of an adult. The rules of the game change when the project is by a real architect, who must temporarily personify himself with this special client.
