V
zadnjih letih je bila uveljavitev novih oblikovalskih imen v našem
okolju pogosto povezana z uspehom na velikih skupinskih razstavah,
ki na Hrvaškem potekajo vse bolj redno. Za hiter vzpon prve generacije
diplomantov zagrebškega študija oblikovanja so bili na primer
izjemno pomembni prvi dve razstavi Hrvaškega društva oblikovalcev
in 34. zagrebški salon, razstave, močno zaznamovane z izmenjavo
generacij in oblikovanjem nove estetske paradigme. Pojav številnih
kakovostnih avtorjev v presenetljivo kratkem času je bil rezultat
odprtja novih visokošolskih ustanov za oblikovanje, pa tudi neponovljivega
vzdušja oblikovalskega aktivizma, izraženega s formalnimi eksperimenti
pri oblikovanju revije za kulturo v devetdesetih letih, v kateri
je večina najvidnejših predstavnikov te generacije začela svojo
poklicno pot.

The
emergence of new names on the Croatian designer scene has in the
past several years often been linked to the success of the big
group exhibitions that are held in Croatia with increasing regularity.
For example, the first generation of graduates from the Zagreb
School of Design owed their quick ascent to the very important
first two exhibitions of the Croatian Design Association and the
34th Zagreb Salon. These were exhibitions strongly marked by the
change of generations and construction of a new aesthetic paradigm.
The appearance of a great number of excellent authors in a surprisingly
short amount of time came as a result of opening a great number
of higher-education design institutions, but also to the unique
atmosphere of designer activism expressed in formal experimenting
with cultural magazine design in the 1990s, where the most prominent
representatives of this generation started their professional
career.
