Just a single photograph of the Poli house is enough for one to excitedly accept a kind invitation to Chile and instantly imagine the murmur and scent of the Pacific, as its waves crash against the rocks underneath the house. The exquisite experience of staying there, endless vistas, the touch of concrete and shuttering, refraction of light and interesting conversations with Sofia and Mauricio are things that make you impatiently look forward to the day of your visit, which is at present only a moment in the indefinite future. And so the experience of the house is made possible solely through astonishing photographs, accurate documentation of the building process, the lucid thoughts of the authors, a series of inspirations and references, and graphically precise diagrams. Layouts and cross-sections are only informative, and thus cannot possibly reveal the complexity of this Loosian space: they only imply basic spatial relations.
