ŽIVOT I ODABRANA DJELA BRAZILSKE ARHITEKTICE LINE BO BARDI

Razmišljajući o egzotičnim tropima, nepreglednim prašumskim prostranstvima ili pjeskovitim obalama toplog oceana, teško je zamisliti drukčiju arhitekturu od arhetipa primitivne kolibe. U našem ustaljeno fokusiranom europskom obrazovanju poneki će tek povezati silovitu modernističku arhitekturu Oscara Niemeyera s krajolicima Brazilije. I tu priča staje. Imena, poput Coste, Reidyja, Burle Marxa ili Vilanove Artigasa potpuna su nepoznanica. O značajnim ostvarenjima vezanim uz ta imena da i ne govorimo.

Thinking about exotic tropics, expanses of immense rain forest or sandy beaches next to the warm ocean, makes it difficult to imagine any other architecture than the archetypal primitive hut. In our conventionally focused European education, few will merely correlate the powerful modernistic architecture of Oscar Niemeyer with the landscapes of Brasilia. And this is where the story ends. Names, particularly significant achievements related to these names, like Costa, Reidy, Burle Marx or Vilanova Artigas are the great unknown.
