Njoj pripadaju autori i autorice koji mogu zamisliti bolje, pravednije, slobodnije odnose i ta predodžba odre|uje njihovu gra|u i teme.

A FEW NOTES ON LATIN AMERICAN LITERATURE

To begin this short survey of the situation in Latin American literature with the contemplations of a European writer, to be more precise of Belén Gopegui from Spain, is contradictory only ostensibly. Gopegui states that there are two kinds of literature: necessary and probable. Necessary resists acceptance of the existing social circumstances. Here, we find authors who can imagine better, juster and freer relationships, and this assumption determines their materials and themes. By writing, they are searching for companions, contemporaries, but also those who perhaps preceded them. They want to free themselves from the loneliness that suffocates them, arrogantly silencing, and talks about futility of any action. They pay respect to their heroes, and do not allow them to participate in running after success.
