Poleg projekta ureditve grobišča internirancev na otoku Rabu, ki je bil v zadnjih nekaj letih predmet več raziskav, člankov, razstav in predavanj, je arhitekt Edvard Ravnikar v življenju zasnoval in uresničil vrsto drugih načrtov spominskih znamenj narodnoosvobodilnemu boju in grobišč padlim v drugi svetovni vojni. Četudi so vsa večinoma manjša arhitekturna dela, lahko iz njih izluščimo odnos do arhitekture, ki je bil Ravnikarju v tistem času blizu in ki je pripomogel k nastanku številnih večjih arhitekturnih objektov.

Apart from designing the cemetery for concentration camp inmates on the island of Rab, which has been the topic of extensive studies, articles, exhibitions and lectures during the last several years, architect Edvard Ravnikar designed and realized during his life a number of other projects of memorial complexes dedicated to the People’s Liberation War and cemeteries for fighters who fell in the Second World War. Although all of these were mostly smaller scale architectural works, they imply Ravnikar’s relation to architecture at that time and the same relation was obvious when he was creating numerous architectural buildings of larger size.
