ARHITEKTURA U RUKAMA ARHITEKATA

Početkom listopada 2004. godine objavljeni su rezultati arhitektonskog natječaja za dječji vrtić u Sesvetama na kojem pobjeđuju Goran Rako, Nenad Ravnić i Josip Sabolić. Temeljna ideja projekta bazira se na gesti razvoja vrtića u spiralnu traku koja mekano obujmljuje zaštićeno igralište. Kao dio opreme natječajnog rada prikazana je rudimentarno izvedena maketa kojom su autori u najvećoj mogućoj mjeri htjeli naglasiti izvornost i elementarnost svoje koncepcije. Svakako su učinili značajan odmak od uobičajenih prostornih dispozicija vrtića, ne samo u hrvatskom nego i u internacionalnom kontekstu i pri tome ušli u polemiku s pravilima njihovog projektiranja. Primjerice, vrtićke jedinice uglavnom nemaju propisima preporučenu idealnu južnu orijentaciju, što se nastojalo kompenzirati postavom nadsvjetla.

ARCHITECTURE IN THE HANDS OF ARCHITECTS

At the beginning of October 2004, the results of an architectural competition for a kindergarten in Sesvete were published, and the winners were Goran Rako, Nenad Ravnić and Josip Sabolić. The fundamental idea of this project is based on a gesture of constructing the kindergarten in form of a spiral band, which would softly embrace a protected playground. As part of their competition entry, a model was presented, rudimentary in form, with which the authors wanted to emphasize the authentic and elementary features of their concept as much as possible. They indeed made a significant deviation from the usual spatial dispositions of day nurseries, not only in a Croatian context but in a world-wide one as well, and thereby they entered into questioning the rules of their design. For example, the Sesvete kindergarten’s units in general do not have the recommended ideal orientation to the south, and to compensate for this skylights were introduced.
